HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
To start off this new year, I thought it would be fun to share a photo every day for one week (except Sunday), but not just show my usual bright and colorful photos of God’a creation, but these ones would show the beauty of things seen in black and white.
Sometimes there are photos best taken in this mode and they can be just as lovely, if not better, as it shows a different perspective….texture being the main eye-catcher!
For my first B&W photo, I thought it only fitting to post one of winter frost amongst the grass and leaves on our property.
To me, this photo says so much about our frosty mornings here in Kentucky:
The sound of the grass crunching beneath my feet, the phenomenal glowing outlines of everything covered by the delicate blanket of ice shimmering under the morning sun, the crisp feel of the cool air biting my face and hands reminding me of the blessings of a warm house to keep one warm after morning chores to thaw the chilled fingers and face, and seeing ones breath on a chilly day float in the air like a puff of smoke; a vapor that is there and gone, reminding me what a precious and fleeting life we have been given to live with a blessed purpose for those of Christ’s beloved.
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
As we enter into this winter season, there is much to be thankful for, and a lot to look forward to in this new year of fresh beginnings, but let us not forget to thank the One Who has given us this one life to live, and to live it to the fullest for His glory!
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
“Thou God of all Grace,
Thou hast given me a Savior, produce in me faith to live by Him, to make Him all my desire, all my hope, all my glory.
May I enter Him as my refuge, build on Him as my foundation, walk in Him as my way, follow Him as my guide, conform to Him as my example, receive His instructions as my prophet, rely on His intersession as my high priest, obey Him as my King.
May I never be ashamed of Him or His words, but joyfully bear his reproach, never displease Him by unholy or imprudent conduct, never count it a glory if I take it patiently when buffeted for a fault, never make the multitude my model, never delay when thy Word invites me to advance.
May thy dear Son preserve me from this present evil world, so that its smiles never allure, nor its frowns terrify, nor its vices defile, nor its errors delude me.
May I feel that I am a stranger and a pilgrim on earth, declaring plainly that I seek a country, my title to it becoming daily more clear, my meetness for it more perfect, my foretastes of it more abundant; and whatsoever I do may it be done in the Saviors name.”
~The Valley of Vision, “The Savior” pages 78-79 (Leather Bound)~
My hope and prayer is that no matter what goals and resolutions we make for ourselves this year; may our first desire, and of every moment of our lives be to glorify the Savior in all we do, and from this reflect Jehovah’s goodness to all the Lord brings into our lives. When we do this first, our attitude and actions towards the things we wish to accomplish (if it’s the Lord’s will to finish them) will have much more meaning and we ourselves will have a sweeter, and more profitable year than we could ever hope for!
“As I arise today,
may the strength of God pilot me,
the power of God uphold me,
the wisdom of God guide me.
May the eye of God look before me,
the ear of God hear me,
the word of God speak for me.
May the hand of God protect me,
the way of God lie before me,
the shield of God defend me,
the host of God save me.
May Christ shield me today.
Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit,
Christ when I stand,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
Have a blessed and joyful year in our Lord this 2015 y’all!
Grace and Peace,
Miss Antoinette Joy
