Howdy Y’all!

My story begins as a city girl with a big heart for the country life. I was born and raised smack dab in the suburbs of Southern California, striving to make the most of city life, yet longing and praying fervently for the slower paced, peaceful, more self reliant life in the country with a dream of gardening, raising livestock and living on a homestead with my family someday….

and you know what?

After those many, MANY years of waiting on God’s timing, those prayers were abundantly answered beyond anything I could have ever imagined!

This city gal has happily gone to her hillbilly roots, living and thriving where the Lord has planted me and my wonderful family over 4 years ago.

It was a humble reminder to me that when our thoughts, desires, and direction are in line with the Lord’s, ANYTHING is possible!

This girl is blossoming where she’s been planted in the backwoods of Kentucky, living the life-long dream of getting my hands dirty planting seeds and watching them grow, raising chickens and sheep and watch them romp in the fields, along with a few dogs and cats to keep mice and other things at bay near the homestead… There is always an exciting adventure around every corner, and the lessons learned are priceless with a lot of laughs and hard lessons along the way.

Even with all of the ups and downs this new way of living brings, I would not trade it for the world. This truly feels like home! My family and I are learning and growing each day in the ways of country living, and in God’s Word through the animals we raise (sheep are a precious reminder of our Great Shepherd) and changing seasons of life that have transpired since and are comforted to know that…

Christ has been at the center of it all!

“As I arise today,
may the strength of God pilot me,
the power of God uphold me,
the wisdom of God guide me.
May the eye of God look before me,
the ear of God hear me,
the word of God speak for me.
May the hand of God protect me,
the way of God lie before me,
the shield of God defend me,
the host of God save me.
May Christ shield me today.
Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit,
Christ when I stand,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

  1. You are such an amazing young lady and truly one of God’s very special children (not that He has favorites, but if he did you would be one of them)! Your photography touches my heart along with your words. We think of all of you often and admire everything that you are doing with your lives. Take care of yourselves we love you all so much.

  2. Ditto that Cheryl … Annie is a very special young lady and a very special friend … Our Heavenly Father sure blessed me when Annie & I became friends. 🌷 🌷
